who we are

Holy Spirit Anglican Church celebrates the Holy Eucharist (Communion) each Sunday. All believers baptized in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are invited to receive Communion.

Holy Spirit Anglican Church is a member of the Diocese of the Mid-Atlantic in the Anglican Church in North America (ACNA) which was formed in June 2009. The ACNA is a biblical, orthodox and missionary province recognized by a large majority of the Global South Primates within the Anglican Communion worldwide. Our bishop is the Rt. Rev. John Guernsey and our archbishop is the Most Rev. Foley Beach.

The ACNA has almost 1000 congregations throughout North America and our diocese currently has 33 congregations in the region and has at least eight congregations in formation.

Meet Fr. Vern

The Rev. Vern Caswell was called to lead Holy Spirit Anglican Church after spending eight years as the rector of St. James Anglican Church, Oklahoma City. Fr. Vern is a graduate of Trinity School for Ministry (Masters in Divinity 2004). After being ordained a deacon by Bishop Duncan of Pittsburgh, he moved to Oklahoma to lead St. James, which was one of the first congregations to realign under the authority of an overseas bishop in 2004. Fr. Vern was ordained a priest in March of 2005 by Archbishop Gregory Venables, the bishop of Argentina and head of the Anglican Church of the Southern Cone. The ordination took place in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

As a priest and pastor, Fr. Vern has a passion for seeing people come to the Lord and grow in their love and service to Jesus Christ. He has been married to Laura for 22 years and they have two children. Their daughter Sydney lives in Naples, FL., and Christian, their son, lives in Norman Ok. Fr. Vern is a once-avid golfer who also enjoys gardening, cooking and spending time with family.

Quarterly Mission Partners

We have selected four ministries as Quarterly Mission Partners. We feel that the work they are doing coincides with our mission and ministry and we want to encourage and help what God is doing through them. During the quarter they have been selected, we pray for them each week during our regular Sunday morning worship service. We also send them a financial contribution to help with their work. In addition, we invite a representative of the ministry to visit us one Sunday during their quarter and give us an insight into and up-date on the ministry.

Our current Quarterly Mission Partners are Kairos Prison Ministry [kairosofde.org], The Christian Shelter, The Way Home and The Veteran’s Home.
